This is the last side profile portrait I have from the Neglected Series. It is rather a bittersweet one. This is Dropper and she belonged to a friend whom always allows me to photograph his horses at the track. She was a lovely mare and a personal favorite of both of us but she is no longer with us.

This is one of the reasons I  love portrait work, photographs get lost or faded while a painting remains vivid and ageless.

The neglected series is winding down. Only 11 left. There are some very unique ones coming up because in true procrastinating manner, the hardest ones are left!! Nothing like a storm day to help one wile away the hours in the studio! If the Maritimes continues to get pommeled by Mother Nature and Shubenacadie Sam, I just might finish them all before spring, when I emerge with my camera to search for more inspiration!!

A mare with a name that makes me wish for warmer weather!! Just dug the house, car and critters out of a massive snowstorm and I really wish I mowing grass than shovelling snow!

Horses are such interesting creatures. You can paint them from any angle and they are still beautiful. This is a colt from the local track. Seems a lot of my inspiration of late has come from fast horses that are not moving!!

I am feeling very productive as of late. It most likely will not last but I will bask in the glory of completing a few paintings!
This little gem is of a mare I photographed a year or so ago. She suffered a severe colic that nearly ended her life. Thankfully she recovered and is still delighting her owner on a daily basis.

The neglected series is receiving some much needed attention and I am very glad for it. My studio id like my own little piece of heaven on Earth!

Still using my main muse to keep me inspired in the studio during this hectic season! Oddly it seems like every season is hectic. I think that cloning myself would be good but then I realize I would just use that as an excuse to do more!!!
